ABOUT US

SynesthASIA is a Montreal charity fashion show inspired by the artistic movement based on a neurological condition of cross-wired senses, “synesthesia.”  The name of the organization, “SynesthASIA,” is a play on words to describe the artistic vision of the fashion show featuring local Montreal designers and talent, with a different contemporary Asian flavour colouring each scene. This year, 100% of the proceeds will be going to the Right To Play, is the leading international humanitarian and development organization using the unique power of sport and play to build essential skills in children and thereby dfrive social change in communities affected by war, poverty, and disease.
In 2009, the show made its debut at Metropolis, attracting over 1200 audience members as well as designers, stylists, magazines, and photographers, and raising money for the Ashraya Initiative for Children (AIC), an orphanage for street children in Pune, India. In 2010, the show attracted a similar crowd, while raising funds for the Medical Institute for Tamils (MIFT), which provides non-denominational humanitarian aid and emergency supplies to civil war refugees in Sri Lanka, and last year the show raised funds for The Abhilasha Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to change in India by focusing on education.
